1. DSF Cultivation Award

New creations are born from the connection between design and science.
By praising and supporting the protagonists who have produced these fruits, we aim to lead the world toward a beautiful one.

Qualification requirements

  • Any area, affiliation (individual or group), or nationality is acceptable for works and outputs of research (including products or articles).
  • If you belong to an organization such as a company, group, or educational institution and your application is related to your affiliation, please submit a letter of consent from your affiliation in writing.
  • Entries must be the original work or product of the applicant and must not infringe on any copyright, design right, trademark right, portrait right, or any other right of a third party.

2.   DSF CULTIVATION AWARD for Students

By praising the young protagonist who has produced new achievements as a gifted person who will lead the next generation, and by expecting and supporting the further development of ones talent, we aim to lead the world toward a beautiful direction.

Qualification requirements

  • The applicant must be enrolled in an educational institution equivalent to a university (including a graduate school) as of March 1, 2024. *Certificate of registration as of March 1, 2024 must be submitted.
  • Any area, affiliation (individual or group), or nationality is acceptable for works and outputs of research (including products or articles).
  • If you belong to an organization such as a company, group, or educational institution and your application is related to your affiliation, please submit a letter of consent from your affiliation in writing.
  • Entries must be the original work or product of the applicant and must not infringe on any copyright, design right, trademark right, portrait right, or any other right of a third party.

Application Guidelines

We will reward and support new creations and connections found through the perspective and concept of design in various fields such as science, technology, information, arts, and performance, as well as their activities. Please submit materials in the prescribed format that show the wisdom of humankind and new paths to generate “creation,” “beauty,” and “harmony,” as well as new creations and works that include the possibility of leading the world in a beautiful direction, and the content of these activities (hereinafter referred to as “work”). It doesn’t matter whether you recommend yourself or others.

Submission Materials

Information on works and outputs of research (including products or articles)

Required

1.

A statement giving an overview of the work or the output of research (English or Japanese)Japanese, no more than 600 characters. 300 words or less in English. (doc/pdf format)

  • Include information of the work or the output of researchTitle of work/research, form of artifact, date of publication/production
  • Include creator or researcher informationCreator/researcher’s name, date of birth, nationality, and place of residence

  • For artwork images: The name of the work and the name of the creator must be written on one A3 size sheet. (pdf format, File size within 5MB
  • For outputs of research: Summarize the research on 5 pages of A4 size and include the research title and the name of the researcher.pdf format within 5M

Optional items

  • Video materials of the work or the output of research: URL where the work can be viewed in a digest of 3 minutes or less.

Certificate of enrollment

Applicants for the DSF CULTIVATION AWARD for Students must submit a certificate of enrollment as of March 1, 2024.

Letter of pledge

Submit a signed pledge (pdf format) promising that the work is your own original one.
